I’ve never grown mushrooms. Where do I start?

How long does a first grow take?
Usually six to seven weeks: two to three weeks on grain, one to two weeks in the substrate, then a week or two of fruiting.
What is CVG?
CVG is a mix of coco coir, vermiculite and gypsum. It holds water well, resists contamination and suits oyster mushrooms. Lion’s mane and reishi prefer hardwood instead.
Do you sell spores or cultures?
No. We supply equipment, grain and substrate for growing culinary mushrooms. Buy your culture from a specialist supplier.
Which bag size should I choose?
The small bag (0.5 kg grain, 0.75 kg substrate) suits a first grow. The large bag doubles everything for a bigger flush.
What is the spray bottle for?
The 70% isopropyl alcohol is for wiping your gloves, the injection port and your work surface. It is flammable, so keep it away from flames.
How long does delivery take?
Orders ship from partner suppliers. You will see a delivery estimate at checkout before paying.
What is your returns policy?
Unused, unopened items can be returned within 30 days. Grain and substrate can’t be returned once opened. Damaged goods are always replaced.
